And the Sugar Fast Begins Again.

Last year I did a sugar fast. I literally cut out 98% of all processed sugar from my diet and it worked out in my favour (having lost a solid 10 pounds having changed nothing else at all in my lifestyle).

Well, that was last year and this is this year. Needless to say, I’ve gained back those 10 pounds plus an extra 10 for good measure. So, going back on my sugar fast and the plan this time around is to make it a permanent lifestyle change.

Mental Note: Set up the sugar fast page as an explanation of what and how, you know, to get the details down.

One thing I’m learning, on day five, is that sugar is easy. Scoop a spoonful of the white stuff into whatever you’re drinking, sprinkle a bit over your grapefruit, buy just about any processed meal in the supermarket. Super easy.

Moving away from the sugar is what’s hard. That means the majority of my diet will consist of fruits, veggies, and very select meats–all prepared by me, which sucks because I’m lazy when it comes to meal prep.

I wish that more companies would see that you don’t need to add sugar to something to make it taste good (for crying out loud, why does a hamburger need added sugar?), that’s what spices are for. Oh well.

This just means I have to suck it all up and push forward.

Starting Again.

Some time in the long ago past, I had a personal blog. It became too personal so I shut it down. I’m going to try again. This time, I’ll be going by the name Pet’s Daughter. (As you may have guessed, my mom’s name was Pet…or well, her nickname anyway.)

This isn’t going to be a particularly awesome blog or anything. There will be even fewer pics of myself or my friends and family, for privacy purposes. But I’ll do my best to open up and share what’s going on in my heart, my head, and my life.

To those of you who know who I am: Welcome, get comfy, don’t judge me too harshly please. To those of you who don’t, likewise.
